Oppose SOPA PIPA Internet Censorship

Oppose SOPA PIPA attack on internet liberty. Call your elected officials, tell them you are their constituent, and you oppose SOPA and PIPA.

Why?

SOPA and PIPA would put the burden on website owners to police user-contributed material and call for the unnecessary blocking of entire sites. Small sites won’t have sufficient resources to defend themselves. Big media companies may seek to cut off funding sources for their foreign competitors, even if copyright isn’t being infringed. Foreign sites will be blacklisted, which means they won’t show up in major search engines. SOPA PIPA would build a framework for future restrictions and suppression.

In a world in which politicians regulate the Internet based on the influence of big money, Wikipedia — and sites like it — cannot survive.

Congress says it’s trying to protect the rights of copyright owners, but the “cure” that SOPA and PIPA represent is worse than the disease. SOPA PIPA are not the answer: they would fatally damage the free and open Internet.

Millions of Americans oppose SOPA PIPA because these bills would censor the Internet and slow economic growth in the U.S.

Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House, would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business. Millions of Internet users and entrepreneurs already oppose SOPA and PIPA.

The Senate will begin voting on January 24th. Please let them know how you feel. Sign this petition urging Congress to vote NO on PIPA SOPA before it is too late.

Tell Congress: Don’t censor the Web

Fighting online piracy is important. The most effective way to shut down pirate websites is through targeted legislation that cuts off their funding. There’s no need to make American social networks, blogs and search engines censor the Internet or undermine the existing laws that have enabled the Web to thrive, creating millions of U.S. jobs.

Too much is at stake – please vote NO on PIPA and SOPA.

    Republican Elephant Political Cartoons News: More Hypocrisy and Nonsense from the Right-Wing

  • Underworld Atakening: Romney makes millions with Vampire Capitalism, taking over American companies to suck dry
  • Make It Rain, Man: Newt Gingrich gets $5 million shower from billionaire casino owner and 8th richest American. Gingrich PAC shows 28-minute online video exposing Romney’s Bain Capital for scavenging companies and laying-off workers, in what Gingrich called “crony capitalism.” Of course, Gingrich would be doing the same crap if he had the chance.
  • Romney Worries About Pink Slips. for: Willard Mitt Romney; date: Nov 6, 2012; from: President Barack Obama; of: The White House; message: You lost, bitch!

  • Ron Paul 2012: Just wait until those college kids read his ENTIRE platform. Most of these anti-war Americans are unfamiliar with some of Paul’s not-so-progressive positions:

    eliminating five Cabinet-level departments: Energy, HUD, Commerce, Interior, and Education. Also, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA);

    opposing the Civil Rights Act of 1964;

    supporting a regressive flat income tax of 10%, which would disproportionally hurt poor and working families;

    being one of only three members of Congress that voted against the Sarbanes-Oxley Act to improve standards for all U.S. public company boards, management and public accounting firms;

    favoring the opening of the United States Post Office first class mail delivery to private competition, thus raising prices and restricting or eliminating some mail services;

    supporting state-level capital punishment;

    opposing federal environmental legislation, leaving it up to the states (such as high-polluting Texas and Louisiana);

    believing climate change is not a “major problem threatening civilization.”

    rejecting universal health care, and proposing the closing of VA hospitals.

    To discover more of what Ron Paul really stands for, Google “Ron Paul not liberal”.
  • Romney’s mansion, your foreclosed house: Haters Gonna Hate! Out-of-touch Willard Romney thinks the 99% (and Newt Gingrich) are just envious of his millions. Well maybe Newt is, but the 99% of working Americans just want the rich to pay their fair share.

    Republican Elephant Political Cartoons News: More Hypocrisy and Nonsense from the Right-Wing
  • Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close: Despite millions spent on negative ads, Romney wins Iowa by only 8 votes.

    Despite campaigning for president over the last six years, and having spent millions of dollars on advertising, Romney only took 25% of the Iowa vote: about what he won back in 2008. He barely beat bargain-basement Rick Santorum by eight votes.

  • Iowa Caucus co-winner Rick Santorum demonstrates once again why African-Americans don’t vote GOP: I don’t want to make black people’s lives better by giving them somebody else’s money. I don’t want to make black people’s lives better at all.

    “They’re pushing harder and harder to get more and more of you dependent upon them so they can get your vote. That’s what the bottom line is. So I don’t want to make black people’s lives better by giving them somebody else’s money. I want to give them the opportunity to go out and earn the money and provide for themselves and their families,” Rick Sanitarium said. What Mr. Sanitarium doesn’t know or never cared to learn is that the vast majority of Americans on government aid are white. Google it, Rick.

  • Out-voted and out-crazied by Rick Santorum, Michele Bachmann drops out of race. Loser congresswoman considers losing to Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota next. Run, Michele, run!
  • Ron Paul RESTORE AMERICA TO 1890: “Of course I’ll do well in South Carolina …haven’t you read my newsletters?” Rick Santorum has.
  • Revenge of the Pissed: Darth Newt plans to payback Mitt Romney by breaking his pledge not to run negative ads (unless they’re “truthful”). And we know what high moral standards Newt uses to discern what is truthiness.
  • The Texecutioner: Gov. Rick Perry Kill Count: 238
  • Mitt Romney: Getting by with a little help from his friends. Romney PAC spent $3.4 million in Iowa.

    Corporations are rich people, my friend.

    In 2010, the Roberts-Alito-Scalia-Thomas Supreme Court ruled in Citizens United v. FEC that corporations have a “right” to spend unlimited money to buy elections. Corporations are not people. Democracy is for people.
